Star

Hi everyone!
My name is Star and I am a 4 month old American Bulldog cross puppy. I came into rescue aged 10 weeks old, seriously ill due accidental poisoning in my breeders home. I arrived at SEDR close to death, but thanks to an amazing vet team, I have made a full recovery and am now in a foster home in West Sussex.
I will be rehomed on a neutering contract, where you will need to have me spayed at an appropriate age, and we will require proof of this from your vet.
I am in foster with other dogs and cats and could be homed with dog savvy children. I am also used to horses.
I am looking for a home committed to continuing my training and socialisation....my foster mum has already set me up with a wonderful foundation with both with humans and other animals.
I will need to live with another dog for same species companionship and play, I will not be rehomed as an only dog.
You will need to have lots of time for training and for cuddles, and to continue my housetraining.

I am the sweetest and most loving girl - here is what my foster mum says about me!!
Star is a puppy that absolutely lives up to her name! Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She seems to just take everything in her stride and just wants to be everyone's friend!
She has been fantastic with my cats - no chasing, just a vaguely curious/wary look at them but otherwise ignores them. She has seen the horses peer at her over the stable door and from the field and has shown no reaction, she is just very calm.
She has met quite a few dogs, both residents here at home and a couple of (fully vaccinated) visitors, including a cocker spaniel puppy who she played with for ages. She tends to be a little submissive at first with dogs until she warms up but is very friendly with all the dogs she has met.
She has met humans of all ages, including a 1 year old, and she was so gentle. She can mouth a little when excited but nothing abnormal for a young pup and she is easily distracted with a chew or toy. Similarly if she starts chewing anything she shouldn't, she is easy to call away with something more yummy/exciting that she is allowed to have! She adores small humans because they play with her! And then bigger humans get to enjoy snuggles with her when she is worn out! She is quite possibly the snuggliest dog I've ever met - at night she sleeps in my bed and likes to nestle in the nook of my neck, kind of half draped around my neck like a scarf, which should be interesting when she's fully grown...! With rising energy prices though, she makes a great hot water bottle!
She is great in the car, just curls up in her travel crate for a nap. She has been left for an hour or so on her own loose in the house and when I've returned there hasn't been any damage or accidents, she is normally just curled up asleep. Similarly, she is very good at self-settling in her bed or on the sofa whilst I'm working. She still has the odd toileting accident in the house, normally if I've been distracted and missed the signs she wants to go out, but she is getting much better and only tends to wake me up maximum once overnight needing to go out. Otherwise she likes a lay in and it's normally me waking her up in the morning rather than the other way round!
She loves her food - eats it with lots of enthusiasm!! Her tummy seems healthy now (poos normal!) and I've seen nothing that gives me cause for concern re her health. I've sometimes been scatter feeding her in the garden or giving her a meal in a kong or a lickimat, which helps keep her amused for a bit as she is becoming more energetic and lively now she is growing up and teething. She knows 'sit' and is learning 'down', 'paw' and 'wait' but seems a very bright little button. She is a wonderful puppy who has so much to offer for her furever family.
