Ruby

Hi everyone!

My name is Ruby and I am a 3 year old cockerpoo.

I came to SEDR as an unclaimed stray and have now been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

I am looking for an adult only home, without other animals and with an experienced adopter.

I am a typical product of a dog who has been overhandled as a puppy and have had little to no boundaries set for me whilst I was still learning.

This means I will low level resource guard things that are important to me such as soft toys or stolen things such as socks. My new owners need to understand and implement the art of 'swapping' what I regard as precious to something more salient.

I absolutely love people and will greet everyone with a friendly hello, but I'll need to learn to trust you first before more structured handling such as being picked up.

I enjoy being brushed by those I trust, but will need a groomer who understands the patience needed with over handled and anxious dogs. 

Housetraining is almost complete but I still need reminding rather than me asking to go out.  

I am crate trained and will settle well at night time in my den and happy to take naps during the day as needed.

I like to say hi to other polite dogs out on walks but do not wish to share my home with another dog.

Recall is a work in progress, and I'd much rather be off chasing rabbits or squirrels.

I adore people and will follow my family around and once I trust you, I will be your best companion ever. I love to play with tennis balls and will bring them back for you to throw.

I am very active and will need plenty of mental and physical stimulation! I am also a huge foodie so will be a pleasure to train with the right person!
