Ozzy

Hi everyone!
My name is Ozzy and I am a 5 year old JRT x Westie. I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
My Dad sadly passed away on Christmas Day, and I subsequently lost my best pal, my home and went to rescue kennels… and I am now in foster in Kent…with another dog.
I am a sensitive soul who has found the last month or so extremely overwhelming and stressful.
I am looking for a home who has experience with rescue dogs who have experienced trauma. I need love and patience and a promise that my next move will be my last move.
I am looking for an adult home with constant company and no cats. I could live with a female who is larger than I am or as the only dog.
I would do well in a quieter, more rural location.
If you can help me through my difficult time of losing those I loved and the only home I’ve ever known…you will be rewarded with the most loving and faithful best pal.

Here’s what my foster mum says about me…
Ozzy is a super affectionate little lad once he gets to know you. Once he has bonded with you he will be your little shadow. He just loves to snuggle up on the sofa and never gets bored of being stroked! He loves his walks and loves to run. He will walk well on the lead once his initial excitement at being out reduces. He eats well but isn’t greedy.
He will sit and he is learning where his bed is. He has a crate which he sleeps in with the door open. He is completely clean in the house and will ask to go out when he needs to.
As he has grown in confidence he really enjoys spending time in the garden, exploring and chasing birds.
He has started to show signs of wanting to play with our resident dog, in spite of the difference in their sizes! He has been very respectful of her being in charge.
On walks he enjoys meeting other dogs and has not shown aggression towards any. He is not so keen on noisy children and runners. He hates cars and cyclists and will lunge at them – work is needed on this. These are clearly fear reactions and so I’m sure they can be worked on.
He has a voice and he will use it! He is very noise sensitive because of his anxiety, and will bark at any unexpected noises.
He is understandably still quite anxious and doesn’t like being left alone.
He will guard what he considers to be his space or his possessions but is improving as he settles.
His new owners will need to enjoy long walks, and will need to be willing to entertain his active brain with play and training. He will take a while to settle in a new home. He’s a bright little lad and will train well I think once his anxiety reduces.
If you can offer me the chance to be settled in a furever home again, with those who want to help me decompress and who are committed to me and my happiness….please use the link below to complete an application form
Lots of love
Ozzy 💙
