Meet Kiwi

Hi everyone!
My name is Kiwi and I am an approximately 3 year old Dachshund who arrived at SEDR as an unclaimed stray.
I have now been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
I am quite possibly the sweetest, most friendly girl you could wish to meet who can live with children of any age (who are sensible with small dogs)
I am dog friendly and will need a canine companion in my new home, and I do not seem fazed by cats!
I travel well in the car and am a perfect patient at the vets.
Afternoon Tea Adventure for Kiwi

Recently my friends at SEDR took me for a doggy cream tea at a hotel - I literally stole the show, and everyone there had their heart stolen by me!!
During my health checks it was noticed I have luxating patella's in both of my back legs. I am showing no signs of discomfort at all but my new home must be prepared for the fact I may need surgery later in life that will not be covered by insurance. Physio and hydro is recommended as a preventative measure to avoid surgery - but is not guaranteed.
Due to my little legs due to my breed, and my patella issues - I will need a home without a lot of stairs.

I have been in foster to be assessed in a home - Here is what my foster mum said about me -
Kiwi is the most adorable girl and had my working commitments been different I would have had no hesitation in adopting her.
She's met cats out and about without any issues, and has been great with other dogs.
She is not housetrained so whoever adopts her will need to be prepared for housetraining! She is a huge foodie so any training with her is made much easier using treats!
She is the ultimate velcro dog and needs to be with you all of the time and gives the best cuddles. Her new owners will need to be prepared for separation anxiety and she will initially need someone around all of the time. This may improve if there is another dog in the home that she bonds with.
I love her beyond words and whoever adopts her will be so incredibly lucky!!
