Hank

Hank settling into his foster home and learning from his friends

Hi everyone!
My name is Hank and I am an approximately 1 year old Dachshund. I came to SEDR as an unclaimed stray, presumed dumped. I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
I was very scared of people when I arrived but have grown in confidence hugely since being in foster.
I gain a lot of confidence from other dogs and must have at least one same species companion in my new home.
I am cat friendly!

Here's what my foster Mum says about me!
Hank was a worried soul when he arrived but has become much more confident since being with us and our other dog. He would not cope in a noisy house with children - but would be fine with older children if they are calm and gentle!
Even when he was very scared, he has never shown any signs of aggression.
Hank can get worried when left so he needs someone to work on his separation anxiety and will need someone at home for most of the day initially.
He travels well in the car and is a perfect patient at the vets.
House training was a work in progress but he is almost there now! His new family will need to be prepared for settling in accidents and continue to remind him to go out after food and naps etc.
He absolutely adores other dogs and must have at least one playmate in his new home. He likes dogs who are playful but not too nutty and in his face!
He absolutely loves his food and is a pleasure to train with treats! He knows basic commands and is eager to continue learning!
He loves his walks and has gone from being very worried and walking nervously behind you to now walking confidently beside you.
Hank is such a special soul who will make the perfect companion for the right family. If we were able to adopt a second, he definitely would not be leaving us!!
