Hi everyone!

My name is Giacomo and I am an 8 year old mastiff cross. I came to SEDR after being dumped in a country lane just before Christmas. I was emaciated and had cherry eye and entropion in both eyes. As I'm sure you can imagine, this was extremely painful for me, yet I met everyone involved in my rescue with a tail wag and welcomed all of the love and cuddles given to me.

I have now had surgery on both eyes and have made a full recovery. When I arrived at SEDR, I was quite shut down and didn't really pay much attention to my surroundings. Since my surgery, I've turned into a playful puppy and everyone comments on how much happier I am, and everyone who meets me thinks I am much younger than I am!

As you can imagine, I've had many vet visits since my arrival, and I absolutely love everyone there - and they love me! I've let them poke and prod me in order for them to make me better, and have never shown any aggression or needed to be muzzled. 

Since my arrival I have had my own bedroom in the house at kennels, and have shown no signs of separation anxiety and I'm house trained. 

I travel well in the car and am now full vaccinated and neutered. 

As we have no history on my life before arriving at SEDR, I am looking for an adult only home. 

Sadly my absolute love for people does not extend to other dogs, and I will need a pet free home without other dogs, cats or small furries, and the opportunity to walk in quiet places without lots of other dogs around. 

I have put weight on since arriving (I’m now 38kg) but still have a little more to go, and even now I am a big, strong boy and my new owners will need to be physically fit and strong to keep up with me on walks.
